About Aalborg Power Group

Spin-off from Aalborg University. Custom power modules. Engineering support and co-design for power converters. We work at any scale, including engineering samples.

Before APG, our team worked on MVolt, a four-year research project at Aalborg University on medium-voltage SiC for wind power. 10 kV SiC switches fast and makes a lot of electrical noise, and standard parts could not handle it. So we built everything around the module ourselves: gate drivers, isolated auxiliary power supplies, fiber-optic signal links, busbars, protection and control. That taught us that a module only works as well as the parts around it. It is why APG builds ecosystems: modules and matched parts that are tested together.

What we're working on

HDPower

We are a partner in HDPower with AAU Energy and Norlys, funded by Innovation Fund Denmark (2025–2028). The project builds multi-megawatt charging for electric trucks and ferries. The HDX module sits at the heart of the charger. APG will commercialize the charger and the charging satellite.

Mission

Ship solid power modules for real projects — GaN, SiC, or what the job needs.

Leadership

Jannick Kjær Jørgensen

CEO, Aalborg Power Group

Master’s in Nanophysics and Nanomaterials from Aalborg University (Department of Materials and Production). Five years as a research assistant at Aalborg University Energy, working on medium-voltage power modules. Now CEO of Aalborg Power Group, focused on custom power modules and engineering support for power converters. He was co-investigator on MVolt (2020–2024), a medium-voltage SiC project with industry partners.
